A Message from Governor Ted Strickland

Unfortunately, the high cost of heating homes and businesses this winter will likely make a significant impact on Ohioans' budgets. That is why I have asked the state agencies that provide information about utility services and assistance programs to help me in creating this Web site offering a "one-stop shop" for winter heating information. On it you will find information about assistance programs, energy conservation, natural gas choice, your rights as a utility customer and who to talk to if you if you have questions.

Winter disconnection moratorium

Gov. Ted Strickland asked the PUCO to consider issuing an order that would prevent regulated natural gas and electric utilities from disconnecting service from vulnerable Ohioans during the cold winter months. The PUCO responded with a plan.
